Rita Penco

Rita Penco is Director of Client Services at Fraser Valley Regional Library. She began her library career as a library assistant at Vancouver Public Library. She moved to the special libraries world in 1989 when she joined PAPRICAN, the Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada. During this time Rita was an active member of the SLA Western Canada Chapter, serving as Chapter President.
Returning to public libraries, in 2004 Rita joined FVRL as Library Manager for Delta Libraries. She assumed her current position as Director of Client Services in 2009, and oversees the operations of FVRL’s 25 libraries and Outreach Services Department. As part of FVRL’s executive leadership team, Rita also actively pursues innovative initiatives and maintains relationships with her counterparts at FVRL’s 15 member local governments.
